BAE Systems IT Solutions Architect in Hill AFB, Utah
The Computer System Architect Sr Prin II will serve as the technical subject matter expert (SME) and the engineering design authority (DA) for information systems and acquisitions across BAE AFSP IS program. This position will also develop technology road maps for future capabilities, system architecture, models and prototypes. The role is responsible for ensuring the quality of the solutions delivered meets all internal and external customer requirements and expectations and is sufficiently mature to be successfully transitioned into operation and production.-?xml:namespace prefix = "o" /->
Leads, designs, and develops architecture to include the software, hardware, storage, network, telecom, etc. to support the total enterprise, as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. Develops operational deployment models in support of engineered solutions, to include initial configuration, through to acceptance testing, production, and ongoing support.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
Provide clear technical vision and guidance to the organization.
Mentors and develops technical staff.
Establish system information requirements using analysis of the information engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems.
Develop proof-of-concept models and pre-production prototypes, and conduct internal and external demonstrations, to turn the solution into a successful proposal.
Develop technical and project engineering plans, including tasks, process and critical resources, as well as ensuring successful deployment of solutions.
Applies understanding of critical customer program goals to develop tailored solutions. Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in development of these solutions as well as leading a matrixed team of specialists in configuration and deployment.
Develops and documents solutions consisting of contextual, conceptual, and logical architectures using standards-based, rigorous methodologies and practices.
Interfaces with internal senior staff as well as key external customer representatives.
Interfaces with program and project management to ensure project timelines, standards, and metrics are successful identified and completed.
Involved in the RMF processes, including analysis of risk, vulnerabilities, compliance, mitigation, etc. and assists internal and external cybersecurity and information assurance to ensure system security and authorization to operate.
Leads in the successful deployment and completion of engineered solutions.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Required education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Telecommunications, or other related scientific or technical discipline with at least 15 years experience.
Successful applicant will be able to work independently as well as lead a team of system administrators.
Demonstrate strong initiative and an ability to organize daily and long-term tasks and projects.
Extensive enterprise architecture experience supporting mission critical production environments, including cloud technologies.
Strong experience planning enterprise scale system and infrastructure solutions
Strong communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with team members, external vendors, various levels of management, and internal clients with assorted levels of computer experience.
Committed to results and success in accomplishing goals.
Available during off hours and weekends for routine maintenance and unplanned support issues.
A fast learner with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn technology and understand unique system requirements.
Excellent customer service skills
Working knowledge of various hardware platforms, server operating systems, and software applications.
Deep understanding of infrastructure and the underlying protocols.
Experience with troubleshooting, proactively identifying issues and driving them to resolution.
Familiarity with documenting system functionality, source control systems and configuration/change management practices

Preferred Skills and Education
Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks-?xml:namespace prefix = "o" /->
Expertise and hands-on experience in servers, virtualization, storage, networks, NSA encryption, data protection, and disaster recovery.
Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively at the most senior levels of government (customer) or corporate management (company) to articulate the understanding of their mission needs and requirements, and to communicate the value and benefit of BAE Systems solutions.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or other IAT/IAM L3 certification
Master s Degree in Information Systems or related discipline
