BAE Systems Software Configuration Management in Greenlawn, New York
Prepares and implements the program software configuration management plan in compliance with company software configuration management policies, practices, and contractual requirements. Ensures configuration identification of all software work products. Establishes and maintains tool specific software libraries, as required.
Coordinates and facilitates all Software Configuration Control Board activities. Implements the change control process per the software configuration management plan. Executes builds and releases per program schedules to ensure reproducible software configuration baselines. Establishes contractually required or internally directed baselines.
Participates in and provides necessary data and status of the configuration baseline for program and formal milestone design reviews. Implements and oversees a status accounting process that reflects current status of the end item software products. Maintains current knowledge of company software development and configuration management policies and practices, as well as industry standards and current software configuration management technology.
Contributes to continuous software configuration management process and tool improvement. Generates new process documentation and process change proposals. Proposes new tools and generates enhancements for existing tools.
Provides for necessary interface and communication with customers, subcontractors, and software team members. Develops proposal preparation and costing information as well as completion estimates. Has cognizant responsibility for program software libraries
May performs computer resource management tasks per the company's standard processes and reference documents and can recommend changes to some of the processes. Has the ability to locate and identify various computing assets; and discern between capital assets, expense assets, and government furnished assets, and identify proper usage of each asset. May be called upon to provide moderately complex evaluation and selection of various computer products for engineering work of others in the company. Assignment may include complex PC systems administration tasks to assist others performing engineering work.
May perform complex PC-based database requirements development and analysis; database design; implementation, testing; integration; migration; deployment; enhancements and maintenance; and administration activities for applications internal to the Engineering Department. May mentor others on the use and administration of complex PC-based databases.
May perform complex engineering development tool administration tasks.
May analyze new computer resource task requirements and recommend process improvements.
Performs other duties as required.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
CM tool such as ClearCase, Dimensions, or GIT and/or DR tracking tools such as ClearQuest , JIRA, GForge or other tools used. (In addition to the items listed above, the Essential Functions are:

Preferred Skills and Education
CM certifications and Microsoft Office Suite. Computer Science degree preferred.
