Job Description

PURPOSE:

Perform assembly and inspection work. Complete go-no-go testing, and administrative/procedural tasks that enable the shop floor to improve overall quality objectives.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs complex, non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.

  2. Performs visual/mechanical inspections utilizing a full range of precision tools, techniques and equipment.

  3. Performs administrative and data collection tasks such as process audits, data analysis, first article inspections, and sell-off.

  4. Monitors process performance, reports findings to supervision and assists in the corrective action/problem resolution process.

  5. Maintains process control charts and works with Process Engineering to determine process improvements, screens in-process material for discrepancies, and performs maintenance and correction updates generated to SFDM routers and assembly process.

  6. Monitors defects coming back from test, assists with root cause analysis and determination of solutions. Identifies and documents defects, calculates defect rates, prepares inspection and evaluation documentation and inputs data into appropriate system.

  7. Cross-trains and instructs other assembly and inspection positions in acceptable procedures.

  8. Performs other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires accumulated experience of six (6) to seven (7) years from both electronic inspection and assembly functions. Must be able to meet specified certification, training and DI requirements per company and customer standards. Able to read, interpret and/or use blueprints, process sheets, route cards, specifications, user guides, wire lists, ECO's. Ability to utilize various inspection tools, small hand tools, moderately complex tooling, test tooling. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with both higher and lower level personnel.
