BAE Systems Electronics/Eletrical Technology Fall Intern in Greenlawn, New York

Job Description

The candidate for this Fall 2018 internship will assist the Technical Operations group in helping the production test staff organize tooling/workstation setup and support projects such as optimizing test fault documentation. The intern will be able to explore the career opportunities that exist in the high reliability electronics testing field including test and trouble shooting for digital, RF and computer based products. The position is best suited for a student pursuing an A.S. degree in electronics/electrical technology or who is gaining equivalent training in the a military position. The candidate will have frequent verbal and written communication with support engineering and test staff and will have the opportunity to learn software systems that control production.

Required Skills and Education

Willingness to actively contribute to continuous improvement projects involving testing of products and the workstations/tooling which support it

Ability to read schematics

Good written and verbal skills including describing equipment failures

Good organizational skills for workstation setup

Basic experience with soldering and use of a microscope

Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of tools and willingness to learn additional computer based tools

Preferred Skills and Education

Student with at least one year of college who is pursuing an electronics/electrical college associates degree or who is gaining equivalent training in a military program
