BAE Systems Director, Capture Leader in Greenlawn, New York

This key leadership position will drive growth though the development and execution of capture strategies, establishing a position to win and driving to closure through proposal and contract award. Focused effort on our key capture activities will drive new program wins.
For this position, centered in our Greenlawn, NY facility, the ideal candidate will develop growth opportunities in mission computing for airborne ISR platforms with growth in the ground and UUV domains. An understanding of the complete sensor to analyst mission thread will be an enabler for growth in both US and international markets. Knowledge of the emerging technologies and mission parameters, in addition to relationships with industry partners and customers will enable success for the right candidate.

Lead capture teams to develop and execute capture strategies to win new programs
Engage with key external and internal decision makers as a thought leader within the scope of the opportunity.

Participate in briefings and thought leadership activities presenting BAE s marketing messages for your pursuit.
Embrace BAE Systems capture process and utilize reviews and assessments to refine and improve your capture/ campaign effort.
Lead capture efforts, to include: developing overall win strategy, shaping deal with customer, developing teaming strategy and closing with teammates; understanding pricing and driving winning price; and assessing customer requirements and competitor strategies.
Manage tactics and actions necessary to implement strategy and control new business funding and related IR&D expenditures.
Support development of the annual operating plan, to include the forecast of anticipated awards, sales, new business funding requirements and IR&D priorities.
Support business operating reviews with periodic reporting and status updates.
Obtain and maintain capture management certification.
Maintain currency with capture, program management and business development skill through in-house and external training.
Mentor, coach and train BD Managers and business area personnel to support business growth.
Typical Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 15 years work experience
Required Skills and Education
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
US Citizen, Secret Clearance with ability to achieve TS/ SCI
BS Engineering or related technical degree
Minimum 15 year of Defense Industry experience
Demonstrated success in leading capture teams from opportunity identification through award, winning contracts >$100M
Knowledge of Government/DoD contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors
Ability to write unsolicited white papers to influence customer source selection criteria
Ability to rapidly gain knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behaviors in the domestic and international military markets
Ability to shape Section L and Section M criteria and maximize scoring
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Skills and Education
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:
US Citizen, Top Secret Clearance with recent SCI Billet
Minimum 20 year of Defense Industry experience
Black Belt equivalent Certification in Capture Management, per emerging industry standards
MS Engineering or higher; and/or MBA
Knowledge of FMS/ DCS sales processes for military equipment and knowledge of International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR)
Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behaviors in electronic warfare, C4ISR Systems, precision guidance systems, self-protection systems
