Job Description

BAE Systems' F35 Lightning II program has an exciting opportunity for a data analyst to develop and deliver process functionality and data analytics, with respect to Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) data. These capabilities and analysis will further aid customers in understanding software anomalies, and provide machine based decision support as to the root cause of the anomalies.-?xml:namespace prefix = "o" /->

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Analytics Skills

  • Learning and understanding the different tools that have been developed on the Joint Strike Fighter for use of viewing flight data.

  • Able to operate and manage large amounts of data

  • Must understand how to use different analytical approaches to determine where anomalies exist

  • Clustering

  • Statistical Distributions

  • Parametric and Non-Parametric Tests

  • Communication Skills

  • Must have the ability to present anomalous findings

  • Must be able to translate the technical description of these anomalies into plain English

  • Must write and speak clearly, and easily when describing complex ideas

  • Critical Thinking

  • Must have the ability to look at numbers, trends, correlations, and data to come to new conclusions based on the findings.

  • Must have precise attention to details to ensure the conclusions are correct and accurate

  • Must have good understanding of mathematical concepts to build the different tests and distributions.

Preferred Skills and Education

oR

Experience in Visualizations

oHave ability to represent findings in a useful manner.

oHave an understanding on why one visualization is better than another

Database Concepts

oHave an understanding of database structure, and interfacing with relational databases
