Responsibilities Include:

Lead, develop, and support FPGA/CPLD verification for high-reliability embedded aerospace and ground based vehicle systems applications.FPGA/ASIC simulation experience using Object-orientated Programming/Random constrain as a team lead. Responsible for requirements based testing through simulation utilizing UVM, System Verilog, and random constraints. Simulation Plan with detail on functional coverage and requirements tracing. Performs reviews and audits on the simulation test procedures and test environment. Regression management for achieving closure on code coverage and functional coverage.Maintain the desire to stay current in the continuously developing field and to expand knowledge base and skills in FPGA design, verification, and digital hardware engineering.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • 15 years FPGA verification experience, with the demonstrated ability to perform complex verification for VHDL-based FPGAs and CPLDs for aerospace or military applications.

  • Motivated self-starter with leadership skills and ability to effectively work in a team environment

  • Excellent problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability, along with follow-up and monitoring skills

  • Strong written and oral presentation skills

  • Familiarity with FPGA integration into digital circuit card designs to ensure electrical integrity of FPGA design in embedded applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to follow a documented PLD development and verification process

  • Experience with leading small or large PLD verification teams, onshore and offshore, and mentoring Jr. staff

  • Minimum Training/Education: BSEE

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Design experience with Microprocessor/Microcontroller interfaces such as I2C, SPI, CAN bus ARINC-825, memory interfaces such as SDRAM controllers, Flash, SRAM; serial interfaces (MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429, RS422, RS485, AFDX ARINC-664, etc) and FPGA design using Microsemi, Xilinx, Lattice, Altera, etc.

  • Direct experience in meeting the objectives of RTCA/DO-254 for DAL A applications

  • Experience with leading small and large PLD verification teams

  • Experience with outsourcing, and integrating teams working remotely or offshore

  • Participation and preparation for Stage Of Involvement audits, design and verification traceability analysis, and defending artifacts to FAA, ANAC, EASA, etc. aerospace auditors

  • Experience with Matlab and Simulink for closed loop control laws and auto-generation of FPGA code

  • Verification tools such as ModelSim and Synopsis

Preferred Training/Education: MSEE
