Job Description

Weapon Systems is a leading global provider of naval weapons, artillery, advanced weapons, precision munitions, high explosives, propellants and critical infrastructure management.

The Program Director/Site Lead of our US based Weapon Systems US Dayton Ohio business leads a Research and Development Center with a diverse portfolio that includes electromagnetic rail gun development, advanced power electronic solutions and innovative materials engineering. The position reports to the Vice President/General Manager of Weapon Systems US based in Minneapolis, MN. The successful candidate will have full P&L responsibility of a multi-million dollar business and the delivery of key naval programs that are critical to US strategic national interests. The role is located in Dayton, Ohio with regular travel to Minneapolis Minnesota, Dahlgren Virginia, Philadelphia Pennsylvania and Washington DC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides executive site leadership and general management directing the execution of the existing program portfolio and operations with full P/L responsibility for the Dayton business. Understands and leads to a management framework that encourages trust, debate, accountability, commitment and teamwork. Engages and influences US customers. Drives the strategic direction of the Weapon Systems US Dayton business. Identifies areas of collaboration across the wider business to generate new revenue streams. Identifies, develops, and supports the development of new business. Expands business capabilities through talent management development programs. Maintains a safe, secure and ethical work environment and ensures compliance with objectives and policies. Increases BAE Systems role as a leader within the global markets it addresses. Shares responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

The desired candidate for this role must have strong Executive presence, significant Program Management and/or Engineering leadership experience driving business performance with US Department of Defense customer sets. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance. 15 years of Project/Engineering/General Management experience with Bachelor s degree.

More than 15 years of project and general management experienceincluding experience leading technology development and technology maturation efforts.
