BAE Systems Payroll Tax Analyst in Charlotte, North Carolina

Job Description

This position reports into the Finance Shared Services Manager Payroll Tax Team.The position is responsible for all activities related to Payroll tax, including coordinating with 3rd party vendors to prepare Federal, State, and local tax withholding deposits. The position is responsible for auditing, identifying, and resolving tax variances as well as prepare funding requests for tax liability and payroll. The role will support tax administration including the management of tax notices. The role will coordinate with 3rd party vendors to conduct year-end payroll processing including W-2 and W-2C processing. The role will coordinate with 3rd party vendors to support and process garnishments, as well as support and process relocation earnings. Finally, the role is responsible for supporting complex payroll projects (e.g. integration, reorganizations) and supporting technical upgrades as required.

Typical Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

. 2 years professional experience

Experience in payroll required, including payroll accounting and payroll tax

Experience and familiarity enterprise-wide payroll software

Experience with Microsoft Office required

Strong managerial and coaching skills

Strong process and systems skills

Able to articulate complex subject matter effectively

Able to anticipate problems and respond accordingly

Excellent entrepreneurial skills and ability to work independently

Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organization and follow-through skills

Experience interfacing with 3rd party vendors or provider

Preferred Skills and Education

Demonstrated experience performing accounting services as a defense/government contractor in a regulated and compliant organization, specifically DCAA, is strongly preferred

More than 2 years experience preferred

Experience with payroll tax in a multi-state, multi-jurisdiction environment

Experience processing payroll and payroll tax across multiple legal entities

Experience with implementations of payroll services and or payroll process changes

Experience with PeopleSoft Payroll

Payroll certifications (including FPC or CPP) preferred

Experience in a shared service preferred
