Job Description

BAE Systems has a job opening for an Insider Threat Cyber Analyst. The Analyst will be performing insider threat analysis and incident management in support of the Office of the CISO's insider threat detection, escalation, and prevention program. This position will play a key role in all analytical aspects, including anomaly detection and categorization, identification and development of new threat models, and assistance in overall Cybersecurity strategies. The position will also include analytical support and statistical insight for standardized and ad-hoc reports. and may include other duties within the Investigations & Forensics team.

Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Perform predictive analysis of behavior / activities anomalies and concerns and identify potential insider threat risks including but not limited to obfuscation and exfiltration of data

  • Initiate and monitor incident workflows to completion

  • Continually modify and refine analytical approaches given earlier output and feedback to optimize analytic utility


  • Leverages data mining and integrates multiple sources of data to recommend strategic insights to best meet business needs.

  • Reviews data, generate reports, and presents to management in an easy to understand format

  • Suggest and assist in designing and creating hypotheses and analysis that will drive business performance and support business decisions using statistical tools and models to understand user dynamics and behavior

  • Assist in creating predictive propensity models.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Two years experience in cyber or intelligence analysis

  • Expertise in Big Data analytics and tools

  • Familiarity with data modeling and advanced Excel knowledge

  • Knowledge of statistical modeling tools.

  • Experience reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex documents

  • Ability to manage undefined scopes and put structure into large-scale ambiguity

  • Excellent communication skills, including demonstrated proficiency in clearly communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences in business terms

  • Must be proactive and have the ability to work independently/efficiently and to thrive in a fast paced environment, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional and remote teams

  • Must be able to operate under tight deadlines

  • Must be able to learn quickly and apply new tools and techniques

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Insider Threat operations or military counter-intelligence or counter-espionage experience preferred

  • Understanding of human intelligence (HUMINT) and Counter Intelligence procedures preferred

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience preferred
