Job Description

Resilient Cyber Solutions Group (RCSG) is seeking a Systems/Software Engineering Functional Manager II to provide functional supervision to Cyber Security Engineers supporting multiple programs and indirect activities. This position will be funded 10% indirect for functional supervisor duties; 90% will be funded from existing direct or other tasking. Responsibilities will include: employee performance management, merit and performance reviews, coaching, career development and placement, training, and ensuring effective two-way communication with the employees, the RCSG and US Defense Systems Engineering. Outside of the engineering management responsibilities, the qualified candidate will be working on the security engineering team supporting engineering activities in a rapid development environment to support the specification, development, and application of computer security technologies, cybersecurity and information assurance management techniques to DoD and Intelligence Community systems.

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience

  • Experience with offensive architecting, threat modeling and attack vector analysis

  • Experience with cloud and cross domain solution accreditations

  • Proficient in vulnerability assessment, control allocation and risk mitigation

  • Extensive experience with traditional A&A tools: ACAS Nessus, HBSS, Xacta, eMASS, SCAP Scanner, HP Fortify, WebInspect, STIG Viewer

  • Demonstrated leadership skills (strategic thinking, business acumen, supervisory experience, building teams, building customer relationships)

  • Experience with customer/stakeholder communication, management, relationship building, and customer satisfaction

  • Ability to negotiate effectively with higher level managers, functional managers, customers, industry partners, and teammates

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex problems

  • Working knowledge of EVMS systems and project management tools

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • US Citizenship and ability to be granted a security clearance by the Federal Government

  • ISC2 ISSAP-CISSP, ISSEP-CISSP certification or equivalent certification

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Cyber Security Systems or Software Engineering experience.

  • Previous experience as a Functional Manager desired but not required

  • Knowledge of US Defense, C4ISR and ECS business areas or strategic initiatives

  • Other cyber certifications (CCSP, CSSLP, OSCP,OSCE, etc)

  • Graduate work with a cyber-focus

  • Experience with threat modeling and attack vector analysis

  • Experience with Cyber FMECA

  • Experience hardening and accrediting embedded systems
