BAE Systems Electronic Assembler in Austin, Texas

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking candidates with electronic assembly experience with a focus on circuit card assembly. Candidates will perform various hand soldering and mechanical assembly required in the manufacturing of electronic circuit card assemblies in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.

Candidates will work with various tools including soldering irons, wire strippers, ovens, microscopes, ring lights, hand tools, and measuring devices. Task requires an ability to sit comfortably for long periods of time while meeting quality and rate goals.

Candidates will be expected to review demands presented in automated systems, work with cell leads and factory manager to develop strategies to meet requirements while managing targets associated with Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

Required Skills and Education

The ideal candidate should have experience with circuit card manufacturing, understand how to identify electronic components and properly orient them into a circuit board according to polarity, perform fine pitch soldering, perform wire mod, follow written instructions, interpret assembly drawings, work independently, and use clear written or oral communication to share information with team members and management.

Candidate must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products and be able to use a computer to communicate with team.

Able to interpret and understand the instructions on process sheets, prints or route cards. Able to use hand tools (cutters, pliers, pre-formers, screw drivers, paint brushes, etc.). Able to use measurement tools such as scales, micrometers and calipers. Will be required to achieve specified solder certification in various assembly/soldering techniques per company and customer standards.

Preferred Skills and Education

Previous exposure to CCA manufacturing with strong solder skills/experience.

Active IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certifications. (class 3 solder)

Six (6) months of electronic assembly experience.
