BAE Systems Production Support Analyst in Arlington, Virginia

Job Description

This Position Description (PD) defines the roles and responsibilities of a Logistics Analyst in support of the In-Service and Production Division (N-40) of the NATO SEASPARROW Project Office (NSPO).

The Production Analyst will assist in developing, reviewing, and justifying key project documents (e.g., integrated program summaries, acquisition strategy reports, statutory and regulatory acquisition plans, specification, and contracts) for comprehensiveness, feasibility, and compliance with Department of Defense (DOD) and command policies in weapon systems acquisition, development, support and fleet introduction.

The Production Analyst will support the identification of required corrective actions and production baseline missile system incremental upgrades through formal production reviews, as well as test and engineering studies conducted by cognizant design agents or contractors to support ESSM Block 2 Transition-to-Production (TTP), Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and Full-Rate Production (FRP) phases.

The Production Analyst will assist in the general review of missile components and subsystems to ensure that the design, system performance parameters, reliability, maintainability, operability, and logistic support are met prior to their release for production and service use.

The Production Analyst will support, as required, all ESSM production program reviews (e.g., Production Readiness Review (PRR), Physical Configuration Audit (PCA), and technical program reviews).

The Production Analyst will assist in preparing, drafting, and reviewing of presentations/documents to support high-level project and support personnel within DOD, Secretary of the Navy, OPNAV, system commands, congressional staff, and NSPO Steering Committee.

The Production Analyst will support in identifying and assessing current ESSM engineering and production progress, potential production issues, and assist in development of actions to achieve resolution.

The Production Analyst will assist in the development of policies, operating procedures, and guidance documents governing actions of the various Navy field activities, contractors, and laboratories participating in the ESSM Block 2 TTP, LRIP, and FRP phases.

The Production Analyst will assist in the evaluation of critical issues or tradeoffs regarding technical performance, costs, schedule, project risks, and provides valuable recommendations.

The Production Analyst will perform other duties as assigned.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • An advanced working knowledge of commonly used Microsoft Windows based Microsoft Office Suit (SharePoint , Outlook, Outlook Web App, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project)

  • A dynamic, self-starting individual, preferably with a logistics background, to interface, on a daily basis, with senior level international and US government personnel, government activities, and prime missile contractor personnel to develop logistics support requirements.

  • A detail oriented person, with excellent time management skills, and an ability to multitask and balance competing priorities in an effective manner

  • A demonstration of job knowledge, skills, and abilities in performance of duties; applies logic and common sense when problem solving.

  • A knowledge of job processes; contribution to meeting and improving job-related metrics, and a willingness to participate in process improvement efforts.

  • A strong verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills, works well with others, and responds well to direction

  • Cooperation with colleagues to achieve business objectives who values diversity and differences.

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance

  • Current or recent Logistics experience
