Job Description

Researches, plans, designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates electronic and electrical systems. Evaluates vendor capabilities, technologies, services and ability to deliver required products or services. Recommends design approaches for new or improved products and processes. Provides engineering consultation to other technical groups. Conducts and supports subsystem and system integration and verification activities, manufacturing and test planning, and failure analysis. Ensures technical outcomes are consistent with established engineering principles and practices and that customer and company technical, system, performance, and quality requirements are met.

Manufacturing Working Hours:

1st shift Weekdays (Monday - Thursday, 4 - 10 Hour Shifts)

(Overtime support will be expected when required)

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Required education: Bachelor Degree in a technical discipline plus two years of relevant work experience

-Good knowledge of products and advanced knowledge of functional or technical area; advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices in area of expertise.

-In depth skill using current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines.

-Experience using lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, function generators, data acquisition computers, BUS/Network Analyzers, etc) for test and verification.

-Ability to identify, define, interpret, and resolve engineering problems involving conflicting design/contractual/policy or technical requirements across functional areas and with difficult coordination requirements.

-Ability to prepare technical reports, papers, and presentations and deliver them in written and oral form to customers, industry leaders, and senior management.

Preferred Skills and Education

-Specialized technical knowledge of relevant military and commercial design standards. Certain positions may require specialized technical knowledge.

-SAEJ1939 CANBus, 10/100 and Gigabit Ethernet Protocols

Integration of military communication/antenna systems including BFT, SINCGARS, DAGR, CREW2

-National Instruments LabVIEW Systems Design Software programming experience.

-Professional certification in specific engineering discipline desired.

-Certain positions may require the ability to obtain appropriate Security Clearance.

-Certified IPC Specialist to J-STD-001 for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies is desirable.
