BAE Systems Data Scientist in Springfield, Virginia

As a Data Scientist, you will leverage knowledge of data science, methodologies, and processing techniques to perform predictive analytics in the geospatial analysis domain. The candidate will possess knowledge inApplied Mathematics, to include:statistical analysis,temporal and pattern analysis, correlation of events, predictive probability analysis, and regression testing. The candidate willemploy programming skillsto perform analysis leveraging Visual Basic and/or Python scripting. The candidate will document and visualize data both temporally and spatially, and present data to managers. Ad-hoc informational briefings may also be required to explain methodologies and analytical findings to peers and customer stakeholders. The candidate will also investigate and implement new scientific analysis and methodologies to support big data analytics efforts and stay current with evolving technologies and capabilities.

Minimum Education And Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills And Education

Required education: High School/GED or Bachelor's degree, depending on level of position.

SKILLS: Candidates must possess excellent oraland written communication skills and will interact with team members, customer representatives, external customers, and functional peer groups. Candidate must have experience briefing customers, and have excellent writing skills to develop formal written reports.
