BAE Systems Senior Business Development Manager - Sensor Solutions in San Jose, California

The Senior Business Development Manager position will be part of the BAE Systems Sensor Solutions Group. This key leadership position will help drive the growth of high performance CMOS Image Sensors and Thermal Imaging products around the world. The manager will develop winning sales strategies, manage sales staff and own the revenue. The position will require intense curiosity about addressable markets and relentless focus on closing new design wins while making sure operational needs of existing customers are managed.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, the Senior BD Manager will be responsible for managing the sales staff for sensor solutions and driving growth for CMOS Image Sensors and Thermal Imaging Solutions.

  • Manage worldwide sales team and lead the strategy development to expand market share for Fairchild Imaging products.

  • Own the design win pipeline process, drive new customer acquisition, and ensure design win closure execution.

  • Develop cohesive plans for expanding market reach and developing adjacent opportunities for growth.

  • Work with sales staff to orchestrate executive level relationships and interactions at key strategic accounts.

  • Manage current product and revenue forecasts and provide Marketing with future market trends and key customer intelligence.

  • Work with Operations to ensure on-time delivery of products in backlog.

  • Lead internal and external communications for customer RMA activity and product quality issues

Job Summary:

Identifies, develops, and implements near-term and long-term business strategies relating to the sale of new and existing products. Leads and mentors the worldwide sales team to optimize sales process effectiveness. Works collaboratively with marketing, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure products meet customer needs, and possesses excellent analytical skills to understand the challenges and problems that customers face. Performs economic analyses on product opportunities, and aligns resources to drive closure. The Senior BD Manager is a master communicator, and can interface with customers and prospects at all levels.

Required Skills:

  • 10 years of sales management experience in the semiconductor industry with a strong track record of revenue generation.

  • Experience selling CMOS Image Sensors and Thermal Imaging products is preferred, but not required.

  • Previous experience in an account management role, proven track record of developing accounts, and demonstrated ability to close design wins.

  • Proven ability to manage a diverse sales staff with the ability to articulate corporate goals to individual sales goals.

  • Own group revenue, manage demand and booking forecasting, and manage opportunity pipelines.

  • Good technical skills to understand the complexities of imaging solutions and demonstrated ability to create and sell product and technology value propositions.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to prioritize, escalate and drive customer issues to resolution.

  • Proven experience in evaluating business models and performing ROI analysis on customer opportunities.

  • Proven ability to drive and close contract negotiations. Experienced developing sales and custom design contracts.

  • Ability to help plan and participate in industry events to drive awareness and product adoption.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, developing sales tools, and related communications.
