BAE Systems Principal Software Engineer - Engineering Dev Ops in San Diego, California
GXP is looking for a principle level software engineer. The engineer will work as part of the Engineering Support Team, which combines the disciplines of DevOps, SecOps, automated testing and configuration management. This team is made up of high performance engineers that excel at problem solving across multiple disciplines in an often time sensitive environment. A candidate should have a variety of background experience with a number of languages and have demonstrated the ability to quickly learn new ones in order to use the best tool for the task.
With GXP's expansion into the cloud services market, candidates must have practical experience with cloud hosting providers (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, MS Azure) .
The Geospatial eXploitation Products (GXP) business provides licensed software capabilities and geospatial technology R&D. GXP's ability to draw on internal data production and technology expertise has allowed it to deliver superior products to the user community. GXP often finds ways to improve software implementation through user conferences and regional workshops, where important feedback and insight is gathered from customers.
GXP commercial software, GXP Xplorer, GXP WebView, SOCET GXP, and SOCET SET provide customers with comprehensive image and video analysis, data management and geospatial production capabilities. These products serve government and civil customers' needs for photogrammetry, mapping, GIS, image exploitation, precision targeting, geospatial intelligence, 3-D visualization, simulation and mission planning.
Minimum Education And Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills And Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with eight years of actual work experience.
GPA 3.0 and above in major
Practical experience with cloud hosting providers (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, MS Azure)
Firm understanding of broad range of security concepts, including authentication, authorization and defense in depth
Strong ability to self-learn on the job and by utilizing research and prototyping of solutions
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and debugging skills under time pressure
Excellent attention to detail when it comes to important processes that protect GXP's intellectual property and our customers data
Ability to manage time and switch tasks rapidly based on changing priorities
U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED. Candidates selected for some positions will be subjected to a government security investigation and will need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
