BAE Systems Lead Software Systems Architect in Aberdeen, Maryland
Global IT Services, BAE Systemsis recruiting for a Lead Software System Architect for the MCSS program. This position is located in the area of Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
The Lead Software System Architect position for the Mission Command Software Support (MCSS) program will support Army Mission Command modernization strategies and new versions of the Common Operating Environment (COE) relative to the PEO C3T PdM Tactical Mission Command (TMC), PdM Strategic Mission Command (SMC), PdM Joint Battle Command Platform (JBC-P), and PM Warfighter Information Network Tactical (WIN-T) portfolio of systems.
Support will include:
Design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of Army BattleCommand System software solutions.
Software technology research, development and insertions.
System data flows and exchanges, Interoperability, ConfigurationManagement.
Information Assurance (IA) compliance.
Operating and maintaining test and development labs.
Software engineering subject matter expertise for Mission Command Systemacquisition programs.
PDSS and PPSS for Mission Command Systems.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads software architecture/development effort.
Provides detailed technical support for software development programs withminimal management supervision.
Translates operational requirements into detailed software/systemrequirements.
Integrates COTS products into software/system architectures.
Provides technical direction to design and development teams, and monitors progress and productivity through the use of metrics.
Leads large (5 or more people) design and development teams. Minimum Education And Experience Bachelor's Degree and 15 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills And Education
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other Engineering orTechnical discipline.
Minimum of 9 years applicable experience.
Must have detailed knowledge of modern software development processes, toinclude object-oriented development and use of tools, and how to apply themto software application program development.
Must have a general understanding of communications protocols, and be ableto quickly understand the Army Technical Architecture guidelines.
Must have demonstrated ability to lead large (5 or more people) design anddevelopment teams, providing them technical direction and monitoring progressthrough the use of metrics, with minimal management supervision.
Must have advanced knowledge of modern software development processes and tools, with repeated track record of applying them to programs.
Currently possess an active Secret clearance.
